So I've been living on TWITTER for the last 7 months or so. I've met some cool people, gotten inspired in many different ways, and I've decided to come back to the bloggersphere.
This place will more than likely evolve as my blog figures out what the heck it wants to be.
Stay tuned!

Message Recieved: MTV gets back to it's root
After years and years of complaints, MTV has gotten the message with the introduction of www.mtvmusic.com . It's like Youtube for music videos. Backed with the behemoth MTV video library, and both Universal and Warner Music (video) catalogs, you can't help but get nostalgic. Remember MTV Networks also owns VH1, so don't be surprised if you stumble on a "Pop Up Video"!
Here are a few to quench that nostalgic thirst!

"Brain Stew/Jaded" by Green Day

mal-Function
In September I purchased the new Panasonic Lumix LX3 (point and shoot) camera, which I had been stalking all Summer. Excited, I came home and started shooting. Playing with the macro settings I snapped up this little gem. More to come.

My draft complete.
As mentioned previously, I'm slated to be directing a short film in the coming months. Well I'm glad to announce that I've finished and turned in my completed draft of the screenplay. Once approved by Sundi Lofty, the woman who wrote the original stage play, we will be in high-gear for pre-production.
I'm really happy with the way it turned out. For the past few years I've had a hard time getting myself to put pen to paper and just sit down and do a screenplay (mind you I have ideas out the yin yang, and fully outlined stories for days). Only God knows how many books I've read on screen writing in an effort to "prep", for all that time to actually be my procrastinating due to fear.
It wasn't until last night that I realized this was the first full screenplay that I ever wrote. the satisfaction of being able to say that I've completed a screenplay puts me on a cloud higher than 9.
God worked it out though, and I think the story of Amora will pull on the heartstrings of many. Keep checking out the blog for updates!

MAFIA... Don't get clipped!
So a few months back I was asked to direct a pilot for a game show a few buddies of mine are trying to get off the ground. The game isn't new, and you've probably played it before, or sat on the sidelines puzzled wondering "WTF is going on?". Though I was worried about it holding up on it's own as a game show I have to admit the trailer does a damn good job at spiking interest. I mean come on, if POKER can entertain the masses, Mafia will mos def feed a niche market.
Sadly I had to take a break from the project in order to get "Love Me Through It" off the ground (this Feb 12th deadline for the 2nd draft, is killing me).
Shout out to Karibi and Hakim! and good luck on the project.

A tip of the hat to Mr. Seith Mann
So I'm back on top of my game on this endless quest to become a film director. I'm currently writing the second draft to a film entitled "Love Me Through It." I just decided to post a short film from a guy who is making waves in Hollywood, particularly TV. He's done episodes of The Wire, Lincoln Height's, Greys Anatomy, and Jericho (the best and most action packed of the first season), he's doing his thing and showing no signs of slowing down.
Seith is both a fellow church member, and Morehouse Alum (and hopefully I can say Tish alum down the line). Sadly he was on his way to Cali literally a few months before I came back to BROOKLYN from ATL.
Seith, if your out there, ht me up! I'd mos def like to pick your brain. Teddy2XL@gmail.com

My thoughts on the Don imus return!
So Don Imus is back, on Radio and TV. As most of you I am an avid TV watcher, and I often post my thoughts on TVGuide.com
A discussion came up on thoughts of Don's return, and I left my 2 cents. I decided to post em here, because I believe my views might be a little different from the majority of black folk out there. As someone who aspires to become more active in the entertainment field I have strong feelings towards censorship and I'm not one to back down from an open forum to discuss these issues.
Let me also apologize early for any grammatical errors in my little rant, as English was no major of mine!
(Left this comment this morning)
Though I'm sick and tired of the hip-hop/Don Imus comparison. I do feel like this was widely blown out of proportion by a major "figurehead" (dare I say leader)in my black community.
I'm a 24 yo black male whose parents listened to Imus everyday since I was 4. They got trapped into the "what is he going to say next" phenomenon. And in those years yes I've heard some offensive things, but nothing more offensive than your run of the mill comedian (black, white, blue, or yellow).
I think in the midst of the hoopla people failed to take the time to look at the person (and should we expect them to?). The man has dumpped millions into Sickle Cell research (a disease prominent in blacks) for years, more than any rabble rousing Al Sharpton has dreamed of.
Yes this is only one thing, but please believe there are many.
Yes we still live in racist times, and though things have changed on the outer shell, I do believe we have a lot to work on as a people.
I just feel that when things like Jena 6 still exist, going after a "comedian" is a real misuse of a collective "voice".
( Left this comment several hours later upon seeing the response to my earlier comment)
Just to add a little more on what I wrote earlier. I mention that the hip-hop comparison is bothering, because I personally feel that the wrap hip hop has gotten off the strength of this Imus issue is wholly unfair.
Just like Imus might've embarrassed radio DJ's as one bad apple out of a bunch, I feel in hip-hop there are some prominent artist who drag the art-form through the mud. But still I think it was unfair for hip-hop to be dragged into the crossfire, especially to the extent that it needed to be defended in front of congress. Need I say it again? WE HAVE THINGS LIKE JENA 6 GOING ON IN THE WORLD PEOPLE!!!!
Now with all this said, I think that the move of having a "BLACK SIDEKICK" upon his return was a very lame one. Lame to the point that its just laughable. It kind of insults the intelligence of the people.
Come back, let the controversy blow over, understand that you have many an eye looking at you, and secretly bask in the fact that your audience has skyrocketed!!!!
just my thoughts people,
